Adding a Data Source
Before you add a data source
A product in your network that forwards data to the system. This data can be streaming data used to detect anomalies and generate incidents, or data that can be fetched on demand when runbooks are executed. to Riverbed Edge, make sure it is configured appropriately. Each data source type requires specific configuration in its own UI
User Interface. The visual components and controls that users interact with to access features and manage the system. to integrate with Riverbed IQ Ops. Refer to these topics as needed to configure your data sources:
The generic procedure for adding a data source to a Riverbed Edge is:

In the Data Sources page, select the Edge and click ... and click Connect a Data Source to display the Connect a Data Source dialog.

Type the Riverbed Edge's Hostname or IP Address.

Enable the data source using the toggle control. There are three options:
Note: When the data source is enabled, you can access the Enable Data Ingest toggle (not supported for NetIM data sources). If data ingest is disabled, Riverbed IQ Ops does not ingest metrics
A measurement or data point that is monitored and analyzed to detect anomalies and generate incidents. and does not perform analytics or correlate and execute incidents
A collection of one or more related triggers. Relationships that cause triggers to be combined into incidents include application, location, operating system, or a trigger by itself.. The data source will still be used in Runbook
An automated workflow that executes a series of steps or tasks in response to a triggered event, such as the detection of anomalous behavior generating an incident, a lifecycle event, or a manually executed runbook. queries, however.-

Choose the Source Type: AppResponse, NetIM, or NetProfiler.

Type the data source's IP address or hostname.

Observe the data source's Protocol and Port settings. The Protocol is automatically set to https, and cannot be changed. The Port will be 443 or 8543, depending on which Source Type you chose; this can be changed, if necessary.

Type the username and password for accessing the data source. See the Authentication failure section of the Troubleshooting Data Source Connections topic for data source authentication details.

Type a meaningful name to identify the data source.

Click Submit to complete, or Close to quit without making any change. The data source is listed under its associated Riverbed Edge on the Data Sources page.
