Riverbed Edge VM Requirements

Riverbed IQ Ops employs a Shared Responsibility Model in which Riverbed supplies cloud-init files to configure Edge functionality on top of a Customer-supplied (owned and managed) VM. The Customer-supplied Riverbed Edge VM requirements are:

  • Host VM supplied by the customer.

  • Host VM running the validated version of Ubuntu Linux.

  • Host VM that provides the following minimum resources:

    • RAM: 16GB

    • vCPU: 4 cores

    • Storage: 300GB

Riverbed Edge supports deployment on the following virtual machine environments using a Shared Responsibility Model:

  • Azure - through VHD with:

    • Customer-supplied VM Image.

    • Riverbed-supplied cloud-init files.

  • AWS - through AMI with:

    • Customer-supplied VM Image.

    • Riverbed-supplied cloud-init files.

  • VMware ESXi - through OVA with:

    • Customer-supplied VM Image.

    • Riverbed-supplied ISO.

Note: Although Customers are responsible for supplying certain aspects of Riverbed Edge, for convenience as part of the “Add an Edge” workflow, the Riverbed UI provides quick-access to external hyperlinks for the official sites hosting non-Riverbed materials (i.e. VM Images).
