Packet Capture Module Production Deployment

Roll out PCM to additional devices using the Aternity UA Manager and ring deployment best practices.

To proceed with production deployment:

1. Return to the Aternity UA Manager web page for these steps. Proceed with PCM deployment on additional devices.

2. Follow the best practices for Unified Agent ring deployments. See Controlled deployment of UA modules.

3. Riverbed recommends deploying NPM+ Core, UC, and PCM to all endpoints and keeping a continuous capture active.

4. Using this approach, you will have valuable performance metadata from NPM+ Core and UC, and the continuous capture buffer is likely to already contain the packets you need for a critical troubleshooting incident; you would only need to harvest them. See Understanding continuous capture vs. on-demand for different capture types.

When production deployment is complete, your initial setup of Packet Capture Module is finished.
