Per-node Execution Detail Step 1: Entry-point
Triggering Entity: Interface
Every Runbook
An automated workflow that executes a series of steps or tasks in response to a triggered event, such as the detection of anomalous behavior generating an incident, a lifecycle event, or a manually executed runbook. needs a Trigger
A set of one or more indicators that have been correlated based on certain relationships, such as time, metric type, application affected, location, or network device. as an entry-point to pass through initial conditions and start Runbook execution. The Example Interface
An entity type representing network interfaces on devices that are monitored for performance metrics and anomalies. Runbook employs Triggering Entity
Things deployed in the customer environment that are needed to run the business, such as applications, devices, interfaces, and locations.: Interface as its entry-point. See the Trigger Entity: Interface Issue page for more details.
Example Interface Runbook configuration
The Example Interface Runbook employs Triggering Entity: Interface is configured with:
-
Label: default-value.
-
Data Query Reference Time
-
primary indicator
An observed change in a specific metric stream that is recognized as being outside of an expected model. Indicators are correlated into triggers, and one or more triggers are grouped into incidents. + pick-list: Data Query Nodes
Individual components that make up a runbook automation, each performing a specific function such as data queries, transformations, logic, integrations, or visualizations. point of reference will be according to the origination of the primary indicator, plus an offset. For example, primary indicator + 15 minutes: Will cause Data Query nodes to request data for the 15-minutes preceding the timestamp of the Primary Indicator.
-
-
Output
A document containing data sets generated by the execution of a runbook, including output of queries and reports from point products, as well as output of analysis or other runbook nodes. (Chevron): Default full-list of possible Interface Properties and Metrics
A measurement or data point that is monitored and analyzed to detect anomalies and generate incidents. that can be passed-thru the Trigger node.
This set of Triggering Entity: Interface properties configures the Example Interface Runbook entry-point to supply the Properties and Metrics it has, and sets the time-reference for the investigation to the period of primary indicator + 15 minutes.
