Installing an Integration

Installing an integration from the Integrations Library adds ready-made connectivity to a third-party product and makes that integration's subflowsClosed A reusable automation chunk that performs frequently used functions, such as opening a ticket in an external system, and can be used to implement integrations with third-party systems. available for use in runbooksClosed An automated workflow that executes a series of steps or tasks in response to a triggered event, such as the detection of anomalous behavior generating an incident, a lifecycle event, or a manually executed runbook.. You define at least one connector during installation so that Riverbed IQ Ops can authenticate with the third party when a runbook runs an integration subflow. The steps below walk you through opening the Installation dialog, configuring a connector, and completing the install.

To install an integration:

  1. Open the Integrations Library's Available tab and find the card for an integration you want to install.

  2. Click the Install button on the card to open the Installation dialog.

    You must configure at least one connector on the Configuration tab before you can install.

  3. Click Add a Connector to display the Add a Connector wizard.

  4. On the Basic Details page, enter a connector name and the information for initiating authentication with the third party. Click Next.

    1. Required fields vary by integration and typically include Authentication Method (often a fixed default).

    2. Some integrations support applying Service Tags to the connector.

  5. On the Authentication Parameters page, enter the authentication details required by the third party. Click Next.

  6. On the Test Query page, define a test query appropriate for your authentication method. Click Next.

  7. On the Verify Response page, click Run Test Query to run the query. Click Next.

  8. On the Review page, review the connector configuration and status.

  9. Click Save to save the connector.

  10. On the Installation dialog, click Install to run the installation.

  11. When the installation completes, the integration's subflows are available in the Runbook NodeClosed Individual components that make up a runbook automation, each performing a specific function such as data queries, transformations, logic, integrations, or visualizations. palette and an authentication profile is created for each connector you defined.
