Explorer Overview
Riverbed IQ's Explorer pages show detailed inventories of the entities that originate incidents. These entities are the devices, interfaces, applications, and locations that populate your network. In addition, the Explorer enables you to define and manage custom properties for entities; these are user-defined entity properties that you can use to describe and identify specific entities of interest in your network. Each entity type, plus custom properties, has its own page under the Explorer menu:
-
Devices
-
Interfaces
-
Locations
-
Applications
-
Custom Properties
For each entity, the Explorer shows the properties that describe it; these vary, according to the entity type, but include details such as name, IP address, model, inbound speed, and location, among many others. Note that one entity type can be a property of another: A location can be a property of a device and a device can be a property of an interface, to give two examples. For each entity listed on the page, you can click it to view all its properties at once in the Details blade.
Every property name can be used as a column name on an Explorer page. In addition, every property name and value on an Explorer page can be:
-
used as a filter
-
used as a search string
-
shown in the Details blade
